Groups are run by Orion Wellness for two reasons. One is that they are more affordable than individual sessions, so that more people can partake of them. Two is that there is camaraderie and support among the participants, which can be very beneficial. What is asked is that everyone be respectful of the other group members and what they are going through, that no one monopolizes the talking, and that whatever anyone says is kept confidential by the attendees. During the hypnosis portion of the session, quiet is essential. During the discussion and education, everyone is invited to participate.
Homework. Yes, there will be homework, things to do every day that can take time--—BUT, they are enjoyable things to do! The amount of time depends on the assignment. Count on at least 30-40 minutes each day. If you don’t have the time or don’t take the time or don’t want to do them, you will get a lot less out of the group. The daily tasks are at least, if not more, important than the sessions. You get out of it what you put in.
Pre-registration is required so that we know there will be enough attendees to hold the group. If we don’t have at least 3 or 4 participants registered, the group will be postponed. The maximum in a group will be 9 because that is all that can be seated comfortably in the office in Manheim. Box 1501, Lebanon, PA 17042, or call to give Ellen a credit card number. Funds will be refunded if the group is cancelled due to not enough registrants. Please be sure to include your phone number in your contact email so that you can be reached about the group, if necessary. (Rest assured--you will not be called for sales purposes.)
There will be no refunds for missed sessions, but if the group is repeated at a later time, you may join it for the missed session at no cost, as long as there is room. Sorry but there will be no refunds if you wish to cancel within a week before the group is to start, since we rely on having a certain number of participants.
Please feel free to bring a pillow and small blanket for optimal comfort. Some may choose to lie down on the carpet for the hypnosis portion, so you can bring a yoga mat or another small blanket. Wear comfortable casual clothing and bring a sweater or small blanket as the office can be cool. Avoid perfumes and scents. Please leave your cell phones in the car or turn them off—it’s very important that they do not make any sound or even vibrate during hypnosis or meditation.
Weight Management Hypnosis Group
If you have previously looked at this page, Ellen apologizes because there is now a big change in the weight loss group. It will NOT be the typical hypnosis weight loss group. This is for people who are truly serious about making a change in their life in order to get to their correct weight. Not only will education and hypnosis be provided, other holistic non-oral techniques will also be taught.
Here is how it will work. The group will have a free introductory session, so please come and learn more about what will be involved. We also offer a complementary consultation to make sure that this program is a good fit for you. Our goal is success for everyone and will suggest that you don't sign up at this time if you are not ready to make the necessary changes.
After that there will be four group sessions. In-between those, it is best if you have a few individual sessions, so that we can work on your specific issues, which everyone has, some being complex and long lasting. The group sessions will give you general education and general hypnosis related to eating. You can continue to have individual sessions if we both see that you need extra assistance.
When the group and your individual sessions are completed and you are losing weight, we are not finished! Most hypnosis programs end then, but we know that ongoing support is essential to success. You can come in for short (about 30 minutes) individual sessions on a regular basis where we can look at how you’re doing and see if there are any roadblocks. If so, we’ll either address them at that time or have you come back for a full session.
Yes, this has more sessions and will involve an investment that is more than a typical hypnosis group, but we also aim for true success for everyone. Not only will you have hypnosis to help you, you will also learn other Complementary Medical techniques to put in your tool box. The price for the four group sessions is $130. The price for each individual session is $100. The price for the short follow-up sessions is undecided at this time. How much have you spent on other programs that did not work in the long-run? Free but a Love Donation will be accepted if you wish to contribute, but not necessary. Ages 14 and up are welcome. Please be on time if possible, but if you are late, please come in and have a seat quietly if we are in the middle of a meditation. What Hypnotherapy and Integrative Health Techniques Can Do for You. Is It a Good Fit for Your Needs?
Do you have health issues or conditions that have been difficult to deal with? Do you have unpleasant symptoms from the condition? Are you having side effects from medication or treatments? Do you have ongoing pain that is only helped by pain medication or perhaps not helped that much by it? Are you having upcoming surgery? Are you having side issues related to the condition, such as anxiety, poor sleep, poor appetite, weight gain, difficulty with mobility, etc.?
“Integrative Health” or “Integrative Medicine” is also known as “Complementary and Alternative Medicine”. Hypnosis and other techniques that “complement” your medical care can be of great help. They are designed to be used along with your medical provider’s care, not instead of it (alternative techniques to your health care will not be taught at Orion Wellness). Complementary techniques are all-natural techniques; however things taken by mouth such as vitamins or herbs will not be included, since that is best done by a holistic nutritionist or naturopath.
Traditional western medicine (from your doctor, NP, or PA) typically does not consider the effect of the mind on the body, so “western” medicine and “eastern” techniques should both be followed, just as the butterfly needs the flower and the flower needs the butterfly. Stop Smoking Hypnosis Group
Did you know that every cigarette you smoke takes 11 minutes off your life? Do you very badly wish to stop smoking, but nothing has been successful in the long run so far? Hypnosis and other holistic techniques you'll be taught may be the answer for you. Please join this group or set up a free consultation with Orion Wellness to see if individual hypnotherapy is your best choice. A stop smoking group has the advantages of the support of others in the same position, as well as being very affordable. However, individual hypnotherapy sessions have the advantage of delving deeper into the reason why you continue to smoke when you feel that you want to stop. If you are using methods of nicotine replacement, you may continue to use them and add hypnosis to your toolbox. However, other methods are not necessary. Hypnosis has been shown in many studies to be the most effective way of stopping smoking.
Orion Wellness’s group and individual programs are designed to have the person totally stop smoking. Just cutting back is not an acceptable outcome. Another aspect to consider is that YOU must be the one who wants to quit, not just that your family members or your doctor are pushing you to stop smoking. If they want it for you, and you aren’t sure or you think you’ll do the program to appease them, it probably won’t work. Please only sign up for it if you are committed to stopping smoking forever.
If you wish to join this group, please arrange your schedule to attend both of the sessions. An optional third session may be scheduled if the group would like to use it as a “reinforcement” to remain a non-smoker.

Hypnotherapy for Insomnia
Hypnosis may help to allow both the body and mind to relax and let go of the anxiety that not getting a full night’s sleep can create. On the flip side, hypnosis can help relieve anxiety symptoms that interfere with sleep. While in the hypnotic state, your subconscious mind will be given suggestions about falling asleep easily and staying in a restful sleep.
Hypnosis for Good Outcomes with Surgery
Are you going to be having surgery? Are you nervous or worried about having it done or how your recovery will go afterwards? Research has shown that people who have hypnosis prior to the surgery are: 1) calmer before the surgery; 2) actually do better during the operation such as less blood loss and better blood pressure; 3) recover afterwards with less pain, have faster healing of the incision and body organs, and show a shorter recovery time. One hypnotherapy session is generally all it takes unless you have a special situation.
Live Family Meditations
These are meditations for the whole family together, catered to children and adults alike. Sometimes even the family’s dogs calm down when listening to them! Every age can benefit from their calming effects, especially when the family is under a great deal of stress, possibly due to a chronically ill parent or child. They are done live by Ellen, either in her office or in your home (travel costs apply). These meditations can create a sense of tranquility in the whole family, which is sorely needed when under either acute or chronic stress.

Learn How to Do Mindfulness Meditation for Anxiety and Stress Reduction
It has been well shown that meditation reduces symptoms of stress and anxiety, such as nervousness, difficulty sleeping, difficulty concentrating, irritability, worrying, or physical symptoms like palpitations or upset stomach. Do these sound all too familiar to you? These four sessions will teach you various methods of doing meditation and then you will experience some of them, including mindfulness meditation and guided meditation. The course is adapted from the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program that was created by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Ellen is a certified instructor of this program as well as of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
Please be aware that there will be meditation assignments that are to be done daily. If you don’t do them, you won’t get as much out of this program. In other words, you get out of it what you put into it.
Mindfulness Meditation for Depression Relapse Prevention Group
This is a group for adults who have experienced serious depression in the past and don’t want it to come back. Mindfulness Meditation for this purpose has proven in studies to be as effective as psychiatric medications (but don’t stop your meds without talking to your doctor/NP/PA). This is a program that has been skyrocketing around the country. Ellen is certified in it and is offering it soon. Although designed for preventing relapse of major depression, it can be useful for those with current mild depression or those with chronic anxiety. Bear in mind that you will have meditation to do every day.
Pain Management Hypnotherapy Group
This is for adults who have chronic* pain or discomfort for any condition. Some examples are back pain, fibromyalgia, migraines, bowel conditions, and neuropathy.
Chronic pain can cause tense muscles, lack of energy, appetite changes, and limit ability to move around. Emotional effects of chronic pain include depression, anger, anxiety, and fear of re-injury. A person’s work or personal activities are often affected. There will be discussions, hypnosis sessions, and education about Integrative Health Techniques. Hypnosis and Integrative Techniques have been proven in studies to be quite helpful in reducing pain levels.
Only basic ideas will be covered in the group. If these do not help your pain enough, please consider having individual sessions, where deeper issues can be addressed.
*Chronic pain is long-term, lasting months or years. Acute pain comes on suddenly from a cause that will heal, and then the pain will go away.
