Ataraxia Meditations, primarily done in groups, are designed to be calming and soothing to you through calming words that direct your mind and body to relax, along with melodic but unobtrusive music. But the meditations are so much more than relaxing. They are designed to coach you on the subject matter or topic as well. It could be topics such as sleeping well or dealing with stress symptoms. It is well known that information is best understood and learned while the mind is in a very relaxed state and very open and receptive. What a wonderful way to feel calm and relaxed while you learn or absorb things to improve your life.
Stress is a part of life, and unfortunately, for many people it causes anxiety in various degrees. If you’re alive, you’re going to have some stress because lots of things can cause it. Too much of it takes a toll on us mentally and physically. The results of too much stress are physical illness, mental overwhelm, and emotional burnout. Physically, people can feel their heart beating too fast, their blood pressure goes up, they get chest pain, they breathe faster than normal, they get headaches, stomachaches, diarrhea or constipation, insomnia, low energy, low immunity to catching illnesses, and more. Emotionally, they may feel depressed, angry, irritable, or anxious, relationships with loved ones decline, sex drive declines, work becomes difficult to endure. They may feel lonely and generally unhappy.
When that happens, it’s time to take control of how you react to the stress around you and to control the stress that you are able to control. Meditation can be a very powerful and effective tool in reducing the effects of stress in your life and helping you feel calm and relaxed. Through calming your mind and body and helping you to develop a positive outlook, you can achieve a new level of relaxation and live a lower-stress lifestyle. When you feel stressed, meditation and hypnosis both help bring your life back into balance, once again able to enjoy simple everyday pleasures that bring us so much joy.
